BACKGROUND
849 Gallery is the entryway for the Kentucky College of Art + Design. Prior to this project, the gallery's online information was tucked away on KyCAD's main website—not easily accessible for public viewing. The new gallery site serves as a way to compliment KyCAD and drive new traffic to the school. Additionally, the gallery site provides a way for the public to encounter art in a more straightforward capacity, without necessarily having to go through the school's main site.
The logo is derived from the facade of the historic building—now a contemporary studio space for creatives. 849 is the address of the building on Third Street in downtown Louisville.
