BACKGROUND
Arizona is known as the epicenter of the great American desert. Linked with ancient tradition, its unparalleled, dynamic landscape draws attraction and excitement. Sedona is specifically iconic because of its rich, red rock formations. Its contours are surveyed by trailblazers and artists alike.
PROBLEM
Arizona Pottery, Inc. is a distributor of the much-beloved Arizona clay. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, the family business decided to solely focus their efforts on local, red clay distribution. Although local artists know Arizona Pottery, Inc. as a resource, the company struggled to expand its existence to the masses beyond the desert region. They needed to focus their efforts on the primary asset that made them unique — Sedona. Sedona red clay is a commodity. Sedona contextualizes the clay and grounds the company in a stronger identity.

Furthermore, the original name was misleading as the business no longer sells pottery. With the transition to selling raw, red clay alone, the family business deserved a new name.
SOLUTION
The name 'Sedona Clay Co.' is fitting as the clay production is entirely based out of Sedona, not Arizona at large. The aim of this project localized the business and concentrated its focus on the community.

For Sedona Clay Co. to continue ethically supplying artists with quality, plentiful clay, they need to prove that they will preserve the integrity of the natural, untapped Arizona desert terrain. Sedona Clay Co. is working sustainably to maintain the desolate frontier so that all might enjoy these rare geological formations for generations to come.
